WASHINGTON D.C. – Dozens of House Republicans stormed Ambassador Sondland’s open testimony before a joint hearing of the House Intelligence Committee to protest the handling impeachment inquiry. “Ahhh-bup-bup-bup-BUP-BUP-BUP,” shouted Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz, interrupting Mr. Sondland’s potentially explosive details about his communications with President Trump and senior administration officials about Ukrainian relations. Rep. Jim Jordan took over interrupting Sondland with a loud “blah blah blah blah,” complete with mocking hand puppetry, as Rep. Gaetz sprinted to grab a television camera. “These open hearings are only misleading the public with select information! I demand to know why the crooked Democrats are insisting on making these hearings public!” The committee attempted to continue, despite Rep. Mo Brooks shouting “fleur de fleur de fleur de fleur dee der,” and Rep. Bradley Byrne clapped his hands and screamed “caw caw-caw caw-caw caw-caw!” Democrats pledged to prevent further interruptions by installing child safety gates on the open-door testimonies.
